The largest part of the felled sycamore tree is to be displayed at the Sill National Discovery Centre – a ten minute walk from Layside. Whilst the stump remains in situ and protected from livestock and those on the Hadrian’s Wall path in the hope that signs of new growth will emerge, the felled tree will be on display by September 2024 to allow the public the chance to connect with it and honour its legacy.
