Enjoy Luxury & Privacy

Sophie and Kevin are seasoned travellers, and they’ve learned from their own experiences of hotels and holiday accommodation to help them create an ambiance of luxurious comfort at Layside. They’ve considered all areas – private access, great views, high quality beds and pillows, luxury bed linen and towels, 100% organic and hypoallergenic toiletries, and fabulous food and beverages.

They’ll be on site during your stay, to answer any questions you may have or to prepare your breakfast over their Aga in their farmhouse kitchen.

Layside is dog-friendly, with one room set aside for guests wishing to bring their four-legged friend. Prior notification is essential, so please get in touch before booking to check availability of dog-friendly accommodation.

Four-legged guests will be provided with 100% cotton anti-odour dog mat, 100% cotton dog towel, food and water bowls. Guests with dogs will be charged a £20 surcharge per stay. See Dog Policy in T’s & C’s.

Little Extras

The beds and mattresses have been tested and selected for their comfort and support, to provide the ultimate comfort to weary travellers. The crisp, high quality bed linens and perfect pillows will also ensure a great night’s sleep.

All rooms have an ensuite shower room with beautiful, soft towels and complimentary locally produced toiletries. Sophie has carefully selected toiletries by the Bath House www.bathhouse.com – a unique company located in the heart of Cumbria, England where they make their wonderful fragrances, bathing and bodycare products. Packed with natural goodness, all the toiletries are free from parabens, sulphates, silicones, T.E.A and D.E.A. Their Bamboo range – a subtle but fresh fragrance suitable for all – is supplied by dispenser to ensure minimum impact on environment and minimum wastage. (Kevin and Sophie are keen environmentalists and avoid using single use plastics, where possible.)

Beers and Ales are available from the fabulous, award winning Allendale Brewery.

Based in Northumberland, near the borders of Cumbria and Durham, the Allendale Brewery has been brewing quality ales since 2006. The brewery is a state of the art 20 barrel plant run out of a historic lead smelting mill.

Layside offers a range of beers and ales to buy either individually or as a mixed pack across the range.

Red or white wine and Prosecco are also available for guests to enjoy, along with a range of soft drinks including the locally based Fentimans’ traditional brewed Ginger Beer.
