2018 has been a hugely exciting year for Layside as we opened our doors to visitors in March following two years of development. Despite being hit by the “Beast from the East”, and then losing our wonderful black lab Archie, we have enjoyed so many highs including the arrival of Bart, and more recently the Bronze Award for Best B&B as voted by North East England Tourism.
Many guests have been welcomed to Layside with over 400 Breakfast Hampers delivered, providing us with hugely positive feedback. The unique and tranquil setting of Layside has been enjoyed by many visitors from all walks of life – from those hiking the trail to those just taking a well-earned break – and we have met many fantastic people from all over the world.
